Tile 01 · Data

Privacy Policy

InterfaceNorthWorks (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal data processed through interfacenorthworks.com and related project communications. We process data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German BDSG.

What we collect. When you submit the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, optional phone number and company, the service you selected, and the content of your note. We also process basic technical logs (IP address, timestamp, user agent) needed to operate and secure the site.

Why we process it. Primary purposes are responding to inquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — pre-contractual measures), performing contracts and invoicing (Art. 6(1)(b)), legitimate interests in site security and service improvement (Art. 6(1)(f)), and meeting legal retention duties (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Recipients & transfers. Data is shared only with processors needed to run the studio—hosting, email, and payment providers such as Stripe for transactions initiated via our payment link—bound by data-processing agreements. We do not sell personal data. If a provider processes data outside the EEA, we rely on standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Retention. Inquiry data is kept for up to 24 months after the last contact unless a contract requires longer storage. Invoices and accounting records are retained as required by German commercial and tax law (typically 6–10 years).

Your rights. You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing under Art. 15–21 GDPR. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

Exercise rights by emailing [email protected] or writing to 14193 Rosensteinweg 15 Berlin, Germany.

Tile 02 · Contract

Terms of Service

These terms govern website use and design/development services provided by InterfaceNorthWorks, 14193 Rosensteinweg 15 Berlin, Germany. By engaging our services or paying an invoice (including via our Stripe payment link), you agree to these terms alongside any signed proposal or statement of work.

Scope & delivery. Project scope, milestones, and fees are defined in the written proposal. Client feedback within agreed review windows keeps timelines valid; delayed feedback extends delivery dates accordingly. Acceptance occurs on delivery of final assets or, if applicable, on client written confirmation.

Fees & payment. Prices are quoted in the proposal (examples on this site are indicative). Unless stated otherwise, 50% is due to start work and the balance before final handover. Payment links open a third-party processor; late amounts may accrue statutory default interest (§§ 288, 247 BGB) and reasonable collection costs.

Intellectual property. Upon receipt of full payment, we assign to the client the rights in final client-specific designs and deliverables, excluding third-party fonts, stock assets, and our pre-existing tools or frameworks—which are licensed for use in the project only. We may showcase non-confidential work in our portfolio unless you opt out in writing.

Client responsibilities. You confirm you have rights to all materials you supply (copy, images, brands) and that provided content does not infringe third-party rights. You are responsible for the accuracy of content and for ultimate legal review of site text in your jurisdiction.

Liability. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and as required by mandatory law (including Product Liability Act). For slight negligence, liability is limited to breach of essential contractual duties; foreseeable, typical damages. The parties are not liable for indirect incidental damages to the extent legally permitted.

Law & venue. German law excludes UN CISG. Courts of Berlin apply to the extent permitted. Consumer mandatory rights of your habitual residence remain unaffected. Contact: [email protected].

Tile 03 · Storage

Cookie Policy

This policy explains cookies and similar technologies used on interfacenorthworks.com by InterfaceNorthWorks, 14193 Rosensteinweg 15 Berlin, Germany.

Essential storage. We store a single preference key in your browser’s localStorage when you dismiss the cookie notice (value: consent accepted). It is strictly necessary to remember your choice and is not used for tracking. Clearing site data removes it.

Cookies. Depending on features you use, first-party cookies may support session integrity and security. Embedded content (for example the contact map) may set its own cookies when loaded; those providers act under their own policies. We do not run third-party advertising cookies on this site.

Legal basis. Essential storage relies on § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG / legitimate interest in a functioning site. Non-essential cookies, if introduced, will only run after consent (§ 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) via a consent tool.

Managing cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Disabling essential storage means we will re-ask for consent on your next visit. For details on personal data handling, see our Privacy Policy or contact [email protected].

Tile 04 · Billing

Refund Policy

InterfaceNorthWorks sells bespoke design and development services. The following refund rules apply to payments made through invoices or our Stripe payment link, subject to any different terms in your signed contract.

Before work starts. If you cancel before the project kick-off, the deposit (or any paid amount) is refunded in full within 14 business days to the original payment method, minus non-recoverable third-party fees where applicable.

After work starts. Deposits cover reserved capacity and discovery work already performed and are non-refundable once execution has begun. If you terminate mid-project, you pay for work completed and approved milestones up to the termination date; we deliver corresponding work-in-progress files.

Retainers. Monthly retainers (for example Interface Care) may be cancelled before the next billing cycle; the current month is non-refundable once begun. Unused hours do not roll over unless agreed in writing.

Defects. If deliverables materially deviate from the agreed proposal, notify us within 14 days of delivery. We will remedy within a reasonable period. Where a remedy fails, statutory warranty rights apply; monetary refunds for defects are limited as permitted by law for service contracts.

Consumer rights. If you act as a consumer, statutory withdrawal rights (e.g. 14-day EU right of withdrawal for distance contracts) may apply until service performance begins with your express consent. Digital content, once fully delivered with consent, may become non-withdrawable under § 356 (5) BGB.

To request a refund or discuss billing, email [email protected] with your invoice reference. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 business days.
